Discover youthful radiance and a long-lasting glow with Sculptra.
Sculptra is a biostimulatory filler that leads to increased collagen within the skin. It is a versatile anti-aging treatment that uses a gradual approach to rejuvenating your appearance. This makes it well-suited for those seeking subtle, natural-looking results. Sculptra is particularly effective at addressing age-related skin concerns such as lines, wrinkles and skin dullness. It is used in many different areas of the body and is suitable for both young and older patients.

Who is a Candidate for Sculptra
Many patients looking to address early or moderate facial aging are good candidates for Sculptra injections. This cosmetic procedure is particularly beneficial for individuals experiencing facial volume loss, fine lines, deep wrinkles, or sagging related to declining collagen levels.
Ideal candidates for a Sculptra treatment typically include:
- Adults experiencing facial volume loss due to aging or collagen loss
- Patients who want to improve fine lines, deep wrinkles, and overall skin structure
- Individuals seeking natural-looking results that develop gradually over time
- Patients looking to restore youthful volume
- Individuals who want a non-surgical option to address signs of aging
- Patients in good health with realistic aesthetic goals
During your consultation, our team will review your medical history, assess the appropriate treatment area, and determine whether Sculptra is the best treatment for your needs. Patients with certain conditions may require additional evaluation before treatment.

How Does Sculptra Work?
Sculptra is a type of filler that works by stimulating collagen production. We start to naturally lose collagen as we get older, which is a process that begins in our mid-20’s, when we lose about 1% per year. Collagen is an essential protein within the body responsible for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness. Decreased amounts can lead to visible signs of aging such as wrinkles, fine lines and skin laxity.
Sculptra is powered by poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which addresses these signs of aging by triggering the body’s own collagen production. PLLA is a biocompatible substance that has been used for many years in the field of medicine, including dissolvable stitches. Once injected, Sculptra starts working within the skin’s deeper layers, and PLLA particles act as a scaffold that encourages collagen production.
Over time, the body responds to these new collagen fibers and is the time when you begin to notice improvements in the areas that were treated. This approach causes the skin to rebuild its foundation, resulting in a youthful, revitalized appearance.
One way that Sculptra differs from hyaluronic acid fillers is that it improves lost volume over time as collagen rebuilds, whereas HA fillers show results immediately. Sculptra also helps to improve skin quality by smoothing out the skin and boosting radiance. Results can last for up to two years or more, setting it apart from many other anti-aging treatments.
What Our Patients Say
view moreBefore Your Sculptra Treatment
Preparation for your Sculptra treatment is typically simple, but your provider will give specific instructions based on your individual needs and medical history.
Before your initial treatment, you may be advised to avoid certain medications or supplements that could increase the risk of bruising or swelling. Your provider may also recommend avoiding strong topical products containing glycolic acid or other active ingredients in the treatment area for several days prior to your appointment.
Recovery After Sculptra Treatment
Recovery after Sculptra injections is generally mild, and most patients are able to return to normal daily activities shortly after the procedure. However, some temporary side effects can occur around the injection site. The most common side effects include:
- Mild swelling
- Redness
- Tenderness
- Bruising in the treated areas
These symptoms are typically temporary and resolve within a few days.
Your provider may recommend gently massaging the treatment area several times per day for a few days following your Sculptra treatment to help distribute the collagen stimulator evenly. Patients are usually advised to avoid strenuous activities, intense exercise, or excessive heat exposure for the first 24 hours after injections to minimize swelling. Aside from these precautions, most individuals can quickly resume their routine.
Because Sculptra stimulates natural collagen, results appear gradually. Many patients begin noticing improvements about a month after their initial treatment, with continued enhancement as the body produces new collagen. Typically, a series of three sessions spaced several weeks apart is recommended to achieve optimal results.
Pricing
Sculptra pricing starts at $1,200 per vial.
Frequency
Sculptra is typically injected over several treatment sessions due to its gradual results. The number of sessions needed depends on a patient’s age and desired outcome. Younger patients that are having Sculptra done for preventative reasons may only require 1-2 treatments. Whereas those that are older and have more advanced signs of aging may need 3-4 sessions. Each treatment is spaced out 4-6 weeks apart.
