What is LipoAI? 

LipoAI is a laser lipolysis device that offers multiple body contouring solutions within one procedure. Approved by the FDA, it is safe and effective at eliminating unwanted fat, contouring the body, and tightening the skin. It has completely changed the way liposuction is performed and delivers controlled laser energy for smoother results. LipoAI can also adapt to the surgeon’s movements in real-time for a faster, more effective surgery. It works by melting the fat in a desired area prior to suction removal. This helps to shorten downtime as well as decrease bruising and pain after the procedure.

How Does LipoAI Work? 

LipoAI is a laser liposuction device that offers a great solution for treating many body areas that require fat removal and/or skin tightening. It uses a 1444nm wavelength to precisely target unwanted deposits of fat within the body. This energy is effective at melting fat cells for safer and easier removal during liposuction, helping to decrease the amount of downtime a patient may have. In addition to its effect on fat, LipoAI also stimulates collagen production for skin tightening which results in a smoother, more contoured figure.  

There are other laser liposuction devices on the market, but what makes LipoAI different is its unique intelligence to adjust settings automatically throughout the procedure with the surgeon’s movements. It does so by adjusting energy through a predictive algorithm using thousands of data points. LipoAI can therefore predict a surgeon’s movements which helps to deliver the correct amount of energy to the treatment area. This precision allows for more accurate treatments overall and is ideal for smaller and difficult-to-treat areas such as the neck, bra line and submental area. This also makes LipoAI a faster treatment option, enhancing the patient experience and decreasing the amount of operating time.

The LipoAI Procedure 

The minimally-invasive LipoAI procedure begins with a thorough assessment of the treatment areas by our board certified plastic surgeon. We start by administering Pronox, which is a nitrous oxide and oxygen combination that you inhale to provide pain relief and ease any anxiety. A small puncture hole is made in each treatment area and a tumescent solution is infused underneath the skin. This includes a blend of local anesthetic, vasoconstrictor and saline to properly numb the area and minimize any bleeding. This ensures the patient does not feel any pain throughout the procedure. We then insert a small laser fiber through the same hole and begin the LipoAI treatment. The laser emits energy at a controlled rate which heats up and liquefies the fat. The fat is then removed via liposuction, either traditional or power-assisted, depending on the treatment area. The treated area is carefully sculpted during liposuction to achieve the look you most desire. The procedure time depends on how many areas are treated. For a small area, such as under the chin, it takes approximately 30 minutes. For a large area like the abdomen, it can take up to 2 hours. 

Once surgery is complete, the patient wears a compression garment for a minimum of 2 and up to 6 weeks (except for the neck) to help with swelling and the healing process. Laser liposuction is considered a minimally invasive procedure with little if any downtime. Patients can expect to have swelling, bruising and some mild pain after the surgery, which will all subside within a few days to weeks. You may resume light activities within 24-48 hours, including walking and light aerobics. Most patients return to work the next day, which is one of the many benefits of having LipoAI without sedation. Skin tightening from LipoAI can be seen starting around 3-6 months after the procedure, as the swelling decreases and collagen is produced.
