What is Daxxify?

Daxxify is an FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A injectable very similar to Botox, but unlike Botox, which uses animal proteins to stabilize the formula, Daxxify uses a peptide stabilizer, meaning it doesn’t contain any human or animal byproducts. The neuromodulator can reduce the appearance of dynamic lines and wrinkles on the face and have a longer-lasting result than Botox, Xeomin or Jeuveau.

How Does Daxxify Work?

Daxxify consists of botulinum toxin that, when injected into the facial muscles, temporarily stops them from contracting. Before Your Daxxify Treatment

Before your Daxxify procedure, you’ll meet with a qualified healthcare professional to review your aesthetic goals, medical history, and any questions or concerns you may have. During this consultation, it’s important to discuss all current medications and supplements, alcohol intake, and any prior injectable treatments you’ve received. 

To help minimize redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site, patients are typically advised to avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before treatment, pause blood-thinning medications or supplements if approved by their doctor, and arrive with clean skin free of makeup or skincare products. Your provider will then determine the appropriate dose and dosage based on your facial muscle activity, anatomy, and desired treatment outcomes.

Recovery After a Daxxify Procedure

After your Daxxify treatment, the recovery is straightforward with little to no side effects. It is possible to get a bruise, but this typically dissipates within a few days or so. You’ll want to avoid touching or putting pressure on the treatment area, smoking or drinking alcohol. You’ll also want to limit your activity level for 48 hours and avoid medications that can cause bruising such as Advil.
