Lip Fillers

We kindly ask that you avoid aspirin, Vitamin E, fish oil, ibuprofen, Aleve andnMotrin at least 1 week prior to your scheduled appointment. You may take Arnica supplements 1-2 days prior to your procedure which may help minimize the risk of bruising.

Your provider will perform a full consultation, where all available options will be discussed. You will collaboratively decide what your goals are and how much product will be injected to achieve the desired outcome. We can then apply topical numbing cream or perform a local anesthetic block tonensure you are comfortable throughout the treatment. HA fillers also containnlidocaine which further numbs the lip area. After the procedure, we apply ice for 10 minutes to minimize swelling. Appointments last around 30-45 minutes.

There is minimal to no downtime and you may resume normal activities such as returning to work right away. We recommend avoiding exercise and bending over for at least 24 hours after treatment. Lip fillers have a high risk of bruising and may last from 7-10 days depending on the individual. If you experience bruising, we recommend taking Arnica supplements to assist with healing time. Swelling after lip filler is also very common and can take at least 2 weeks before you can see final results.

Lip fillers last anywhere from 6-12 months.

We recommend waiting at least 72 hours after treatment with filler to have a facial and advise you consult with your provider about any upcoming aesthetician appointments.

Botox and lip filler are often performed during the same appointment, as they have two different purposes. It is safe to get both procedures done at the same time.
