If you know that you are someone who bruises easily, we recommend taking arnica supplements at least 1 day before your lip filler appointment and continuing for a few days after treatment. This can help prevent the onset and duration of bruising. Avoiding medications such as Advil, Aleve, aspirin, motrin, Vitamin E and fish oil at least 5 days prior to lip injections will also be important to help prevent bleeding and bruising.

Pain or Discomfort

Mild pain is a normal side effect after lip filler, and taking any over-the-counter pain medication such as Tylenol will help to reduce the discomfort. This should go away over the next 24-48 hours after treatment.

• Avoid strenuous activity: skip intense workouts and activities that can increase blood flow to the face for at least 24 hours.
• Follow up: schedule a routine follow-up appointment with your provider in 4-6 weeks for any adjustments or additional care.
