How Does Physiq Work?

Physiq uses exclusive STEP (Sequential Thermal & Electrical Pulse) technology which is what makes it unique to remove stubborn body fat. This allows us to deliver both electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) and super luminescent diode matrix (SDM) during a single treatment session. By using two different energy modalities, Physiq treatments can target both fat tissue and muscle. This saves you time and is a more efficient way to non-invasively contour the body. Most other devices can only target one or the other, but not both.

The EMS setting emits small electrical pulses that contract the target muscle. This is similar to muscle contractions that happen during resistance training, but occur much quicker and in higher numbers than during your regular exercise. With the repetitive stimulation, the muscle increases in size and becomes visibly more toned.

The SDM setting uses heat energy to eliminate fat cells in the treatment area. While you can only decrease the size of fat cells with a good diet and exercise, Physiq utilizes technology to get rid of fat permanently. The heat also helps to firm and tighten the skin which improves the appearance of cellulite.

Physiq is equipped with 4 handpieces that we can apply to one or two body areas. Often patients will have 2 handpieces placed across their lower abdomen and 2 over their flanks. Alternatively, we can target the legs and place 2 on the inner thighs and 2 on the gluteal region. 

There are many options and the procedure is fully customizable to your individual needs and goals. We recommend completing a series of 5 treatment sessions spaced out 1-2 weeks apart for optimal results. Each appointment takes around 30-45 minutes depending on the treatment protocol that is used.

What Treatments Can Be Combined With Physiq?

We often combine Physiq with our other body contouring procedures to correct multiple issues. Layering different energy devices is an effective way to correct abnormalities without having to use more invasive surgical procedures. When patients come in for a consultation, our experienced providers perform a thorough evaluation of the area and look closely at three different layers: fat, muscle and skin. This allows us to more accurately provide recommendations suitable to a patient’s individual needs and goals.

Physiq & Cellulite Removal Treatments

To improve cellulite and stretch marks, we combine Physiq with Virtue RF microneedling which helps to further enhance skin tightening. RF microneedling for the body sends thermal energy deep into the skin through small needles that stimulate collagen and elastin production. This process transforms the structure of the skin, while also providing more strength that improves the appearance of dimpling and lumps.

LipoAI

If patients have a larger area of stubborn fat that they cannot lose with diet and exercise alone, we offer LipoAI. This laser liposuction device is a minimally invasive procedure that doesn’t require sedation or a long recovery time. The laser is inserted underneath the skin to break up fat cells for easier removal and stimulate skin tightening from below the surface. After the swelling has decreased, we add Physiq treatments to target and tone muscle.
