What is RF Microneedling?
During the aging process, our skin loses collagen and elastin, leading to the formation of wrinkles and skin laxity. Microneedling uses small needles to penetrate the skin, which signals our body to begin the healing cascade and form new collagen. The addition of radiofrequency results in a more powerful treatment because it provides targeted heat energy that passes through the needles deep into the skin. We also set the depth to which the needles penetrate and, thus, we can treat the skin at multiple levels, leading to significant skin tightening. The results after Virtue RF microneedling treatments are firmer, plumper, more glowing skin.
What are the 3 Types of Virtue RF Microneedling?
Virtue RF microneedling offers 3 different handpieces and settings to target specific areas and concerns. The Smart handpiece is equipped with 36 needles and designed to treat the face, neck, decollete and hands. The Deep handpiece also contains 36 needles but is much larger and can be programmed to penetrate deeper which is great for areas on the body such as the abdomen, legs and arms. The Exact handpiece has a single needle for precise treatments of smaller areas including the lower eyelids, malar festoons, jawline and neck bands.
Downtime of Virtue RF Microneedling
RF microneedling has very little downtime after the procedure. If you have more sensitive skin, you may appear red for up to three days after the treatment. Our recommendation is to limit sun exposure and apply makeup after 24 hours after the procedure.
Patients who receive Exact RF microneedling for the under eye area may have downtime for up to 5-7 days. This is due to the sensitivity of the lower eyelids. It is normal to expect redness, swelling and some bruising in this area.

Frequency
Our skin rejuvenation treatment specialists recommend scheduling appointments every 4-6 weeks for a series of 3 treatments to see the maximum results. The procedures can then be spaced out every 3-4 months to follow a maintenance schedule, depending on your skin goals.
