Botox and Xeomin

Botox and Xeomin are some of the most popular anti-aging treatments resulting in rejuvenated and smoother skin. As we age, the lines that are formed by facial expressions become deeper and more pronounced. Botox and Xeomin utilize neurotoxins and are injected into facial muscles to reduce lines and wrinkles for a youthful appearance. These injectables can also be used to treat a variety of conditions like TMJ, bruxism and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). Learn more about our Botox and Xeomin injectables treatments here.

What is Botox?

While Botox can be used to treat a variety of medical conditions, Botox is one of the most popular minimally invasive cosmetic procedures offered at our luxury medspa. Botox is an FDA-approved injectable product to treat lines and wrinkles that are created from repeated facial movements. It is a minimally invasive procedure that creates a smoother complexion without sacrificing the ability to make facial expressions. When administered correctly, Botox injectables can provide a youthful, well-rested appearance while preserving your natural beauty. What is Xeomin?

Similar to Botox, Xeomin is a FDA approved neurotoxin injection used for anti-aging and medical purposes for dynamic lines and wrinkles . This treatment is known to reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the face by blocking nerve signals to targeted muscles. With Xeomin, facial muscles are temporarily paralyzed, which results in a smoother appearance. Treatment with Xeomin results in the same outcome, reducing lines created by facial expressions.

How Does Xeomin Compare to Botox?

There are minimal differences between neurotoxins. In rare instances, antibodies can form to one of the neurotoxins resulting in decreased efficacy. For example, since Xeomin has a slightly different formulation than Botox, patients who find that Botox is not working will often achieve the result they want by switching to Xeomin.

While Botox has been the go-to treatment for years, Xeomin has become a more popular alternative because it contains no additives. This means that there is less chance of developing an allergic reaction or becoming immune to the product over time. Additionally, Xeomin is known to produce a more natural, softer look compared to Botox.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Botox last?

Botox and Xeomin last approximately 3-4 months on average. Results vary from person to person.

How Does Botox Work?

Botox utilizes a form of botulinum toxin type A that reduces nerve signaling to our facial muscles, which leads to fewer facial movements and smoothing of wrinkles. It is carefully injected into the appropriate area for maximal efficacy and takes about 2 weeks to see the final result.

Will Botox make me look frozen?

The amount of Botox we inject for each client varies based on their individualnneeds, goals and desired outcomes. We tailor each treatment to meet thesenunique client attributes and can achieve whichever look you desire. We injectnBotox and Xeomin to preserve natural facial movements, however, some clients desire less movement than others and our chosen dose of product reflects these differences.

How Should I Prepare for my Botox Appointment?

We kindly ask that you avoid taking any aspirin, Vitamin E, fish oil, Advil, Aleve or Motrin at least 1 week prior to your appointment.

What Can I Expect During my Botox Appointment?

Your provider will perform a full consultation, where all available options will be discussed. You will collaboratively decide what areas to treat and what result you desire.

What Do I Need to Know After a Botox Procedure?

Botox procedures have no downtime, and you may resume normal activitiesnimmediately after such as returning to work. We do recommend avoidingnstrenuous exercise and bending over for at least 4-6 hours after treatment.

Can I Get a Facial after Botox?

We recommend waiting at least 24-48 hours after Botox treatments to receive a facial. Please discuss with your provider any upcoming aestheticiannappointments you may have.

Can I Get Filler at the Same Time as Botox?

Botox and filler are often performed during the same appointment, as they have two different purposes. It is safe to get both procedures done at the same time.

How is Botox Different from Filler?

Botox and Xeomin are neurotoxins which decrease the signaling to our facialnmuscles and result in less muscle contraction/activity which smooths lines and wrinkles. The most common fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occuring substance within the body. It is injected as a gel to provide volume restoration, hydration and correct facial asymmetry.

Is Botox Safe?

Botox and Xeomin are both FDA-approved products for the treatment of linesnand wrinkles.

Who is not a good candidate for Botox?

Clients must consult their provider to determine if they are an appropriate Botox candidate or not. Those that are pregnant, breastfeeding or have neuromuscular disorders are not candidates for Botox treatments.
